It is with heavy hearts that the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games announce the cancellation of the 2020 Festival and the postponement of our 75thAnnivesary.

The Board of Directors has been monitoring the COVID-19 developments over the past couple of months.  We maintained spirited yet cautious optimism that we would be able to once again do what we do best – host a world class Scottish Festival and Highland Games.   Our priority however is to encourage the ongoing recovery efforts due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and ensure that our guests, volunteers, competitors, performers, clans, sponsors, and community are safe and healthy so they can enjoy ‘Scotland without the Airfare’ for years to come.

The Festival will be issuing refunds for all tickets purchased including day and weekend passes, camping, concession, and clan purchases.

At this time we are pleased to invite you to Tartan up and join us, August 13 – 15th, 2021 for the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games 75th Anniversary.  Stay tuned to our website for details regarding ticket  sales, camping sales, and special announcements. Why did you decide to cancel the Festival?

Hosting a world class Scottish Festival is what we do best.  However we had to make the very tough, heart breaking decision to cancel this year’s festival  For us this is the right decision because as much as we love the Festival, we value you – our guests, volunteers, competitors, performers, clans, sponsors, and community – more.  You are our priority and we want to keep you safe and healthy so you can enjoy ‘Scotland without the Airfare’ for years to come. 

Why not just postpone?

The Fergus Scottish Festival is a 3 day Festival and Highland Games.  It is not easy to postpone an event of such proportions in a way that is fair to all of our competitors, clans, concessionaires, volunteers, guests, suppliers, performers, and the community as a whole.  Also given the uncertainty around COVID-19 it is very difficult to pick a future date.

The good news is we have postponed our 75th Anniversary and invite you to join us August 13 – 15, 2021 to help us celebrate 75 years.

What happens if the COVID-19 pandemic is over and everything goes back to normal in July? Will the Festival be back on?

The Board has had to make a very tough decision regarding the Festival this year but we believe it is the right decision.  There is a great deal of uncertainty around COVID-19. Additionally, a great deal of time, energy, and resources go into executing a world class 3 day event.  As much as we would love to, we would not be able to put the Festival back on. 

Are you issuing refunds? How quickly will that happen?

Yes – we will be issuing refunds for all tickets purchased including day and weekend passes, camping, concession, and clan purchases.  We are working with our ticketing provider to issue the refunds as quickly as possible. We thank you in advance for your patience.

I want to just exchange my tickets for 2021.  Can I do that?

Unfortunately not.  All tickets purchased will be refunded but we will keep you posted via website and social media when tickets will go on sale for 2021.

I want to keep my same campsite for the 2021 Festival.  Can I do that?

Unfortunately not.  To be fair all campsites purchased will be refunded.  We will keep you posted on our website and social media when 2021 campsites will go on sale.  

 

Will the other 75th Anniversary events planned for 2020 still take place?

Given the uncertainty around COVID-19, all 75th anniversary activities for 2020 have been cancelled.

When will 2021 tickets go on sale?

I am a concessionaire and paid by cheque.  How will I get my refund?

No worries.  A refund cheque will be mailed to you as soon as possible.

Can I still have my Clan AGM or Clan Gathering at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex?

As the Festival will no longer be taking place, you will need to be in touch with the Centre Wellington Sportsplex directly to book a space to host your gathering should it be safe to do so.  If you decide to cancel your gathering, we would be happy to host you again at the 2021 Festival.

Will your 2020 performers be at the 2021 Festival?
