About the Fergus Scottish Festival

The Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games is an annual three-day event that celebrates local Scottish heritage and features world-renowned talent and entertainment in the beautiful town of Fergus, Ontario. Please join us for our 74th year, as we continue to commemorate our Scottish roots and culture.

Whether you’re coming by yourself or with the entire clan there’s something for everyone, Scottish or nae! Celtic Music, crafts for the kids, heavy events championships, bagpipes, drums, tug of war, bands, Highland dancing, storytelling, singing, genealogy and heritage, beer tents, and vendors galore!

This year’s festival features: World and National Scottish Heavy Events Competitions, Canadian Scottish Athletic Federation Women’s Championship, Pipe Band Competitions, Highland Dancers, over 40 Clans, Heritage Tent, research tools and lectures in the Genealogy Centre, Clash of the Regiments, McKiddie’s Centre, Celtic musicians and over 100 international vendors.

Who We Are

To present, promote and preserve Scottish Culture within the framework of a Canadian multi-cultural society. Founded in 1946 by Alex Robertson, the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games were created as a community wide celebration of Scottish life and customs. Since then the Festival has grown to proudly earn the title of the oldest 3 day Scottish Festival in North America attracting over 30,000 visitors.

Festival wristbands must be in sight at all times. Wristbands are void if tampered with or removed.

Lineup and/or set times are subject to change without notice.

No refunds will be offered to customers who are refused entry or ejected from the venue on account of being (or appearing to be) abusive, threatening, drunken or disorderly.

All persons attending the Festival do so at their own risk. The Festival is not responsible for any loss, personal injury or damages to patrons or volunteers howsoever they may arise in relation to participation in the Festival.

Pets are not permitted on the Festival site (except service animals).

Bicycles, scooters, golf carts, ATVs, skateboards are prohibited.

Drones or any other remote flying devices are strictly prohibited.
