parade

The annual “Pipes, Plaid and Pageantry” Parade kicks off an amazing weekend of Scottish entertainment, music, and dancing in downtown Fergus.

Join us Thursday evening, in downtown Fergus to watch our Pipes, Plaid and Pageantry Parade starting at 7:30 pm. It’s a great way to kick off the Festival weekend!

Due to the closure of the St David Street  bridge, the parade route has changed.

The parade starts at the Fergus Curling Club,  148 St George Street West, goes south along St David Street then along St Andrew Street W ending at the Fergus Legion.

Then, after the parade...

Stick around at the Fergus Legion and join the Ceilidh! The Ceilidh kicks off with some traditional Scottish music.

Coming soon… the full list of performances throughout Downtown Fergus after the parade.

Don’t miss this incredible Thursday night kick-off to Scotland…without the airfare!

Downtown Events All Weekend Long!

The entire weekend includes an exceptional array of Celtic activities on the streets, at Melville United Church, and in the pubs. See schedule for greater details:

  • Walking Tours
  • Wandering Pipers
  • Celtic Cafe
  • Celtic Traditions Concert

Shuttle Bus Service

Our parking lots get pretty congested throughout the weekend, so why not take our FREE shuttle bus to and from the festival? In collaboration with the Fergus BIA, our downtown committee has secured an excellent transportation opportunity for a smooth ride to the Sportsplex, and a chance to meet some new friends along the way!

In addition to the weekend shuttle bus schedule, a shuttle bus will be collecting festival visitors on Thursday at the Festival Grounds, Main Gate at 7pm, and going to the Pipes, Plaid and Pageantry Parade in Fergus. The bus will return at 11:30pm after the festivities in downtown Fergus have wrapped up. For more information, follow this link.
