Welcome to the new Fergus Scottish FestivalJacobite Rebellion Cannon website! It’s fresh, fun, and full of information; just like us!

We work hard to make your online experience as enjoyable as the time you spend with us at our Festival. Now, it’s so much easier to browse our festival events, check out last year’s competitions results, and find the information you’re looking for, including camping registrations, buying tickets, or entering a competition – on any device.

We recognize that there are many, many exciting and attractive festivals and events in Ontario that compete for your summer time and money. That’s why we offer such an incredible amount of programming and attractions at such great value. In addition to hosting exciting Celtic musicians and celebrities, we also focus on providing programming that celebrates, promotes and preserves Scottish culture and heritage in Canada.

1.) Music and Entertainment:

Fergus hosts world-class entertainment each year, including (but certainly not limited to) previous Featured Guests: Diana Gabaldon, New York Times bestselling author of the acclaimed Outlander series; The Red Hot Chilli Pipers “The Most Famous Bagpipe Band on the Planet”; and Albannach, “Bareknuckle Pipes and Drums.”

2.) Pipes and Drums:

The Fergus Scottish Festival hosts its solo and band competition in conjunction with the Pipers and Pipe Band Society of Ontario, showcasing some of Ontario’s best talent. In 2016, the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games was especially proud to welcome our Feature Band, the Paris Port Dover Pipe Band!

3.) Clans:

We are proud to host over 40 clans at our festival each year; Clan Leslie was the 2016 “Featured Clan,” and held their Clan Gathering at the Fergus Scottish Festival. Clan Chief, the Honourable Alexander John Leslie, heir presumptive to the Earldom of Rothes, was also our Honoured Chieftain for the weekend of this year’s Festival.

4.) Highland Dancing:

Come out and watch talented young dancers perform and compete the following dances: The Highland Fling, The Sword Dance (Gillie Challum), The Seann Tiubhas, Flora McDonald’s Fancy, The Scottish Lilt, The Barracks, and Scottish National Dances. Continuing in the Scottish tradition of Highland Dance, the Fergus Festival Championships, Highland Competitions and National Dance competitions are presented.

5.) Heavies:

No Highland Games is complete without this awesome display of strength and skill! Our heavies competitions are sanctioned by the Canadian Scottish Athletic Federation, and are definitely one of the highlights of our weekend.

Please keep checking back here for updates and information about our 2017 Festival programming. Until then, enjoy our new website, and take a trip to Scotland…without the airfare!
