We are absolutely thrilled to see all of our hard work recognized by the greater festival community. Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) has been going strong for 30 years (!) as an “association devoted to the growth and stability of the festival and event industry in Ontario.”
Last night, on Friday, March 3rd during FEO’s Annual Conference “Celebrating the Past, Igniting the Future” in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games was awarded a Top 100 Festival and Events Ontario award!
Thank you to one of our long-standing volunteers, Deb Dalziel, for accepting the award from President of FEO, Sara Wood on our behalf.
This year is gonna be incredible!
Festivals and Events Ontario
“Festivals and events create jobs and bring Ontario communities together to celebrate our heritage and diversity,” said Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. “I am pleased to join with Festival and Events Ontario in congratulating this year’s top 100 recipients. There are so many celebrations taking place across the province this year and our 150th anniversary is the perfect opportunity to get out and discover them.”
– Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport
We can’t keep calm, WE’RE SCOTTISH!
We are in some great company, and are proud to be listed alongside other provincial recipients who represent festivals and events that excel within the industry.
In celebration of all the incredible work undertaken by Festival organizers, volunteers, community members, and our Board of Directors throughout the year, this award kicks off our new marketing campaign for the Festival’s 72nd annual weekend. We have redesigned our logo with a fresh new look that reflects the innovative and progressive direction the Festival is taking, as well as promoting and preserving 150 years of Scottish contributions to Canada’s history.
We have also worked long and hard to completely overhaul our website, which now offers our loyal festival attendees a seamless, user-friendly experience to learn about our Festival, purchase tickets and reserve campsites online, and enables mobile device responsiveness.
We are excited to collaborate with local businesses, community organizations, and other local festivals and events to bring more attention to the numerous amazing recreational and cultural activities that our neck-of-the-woods has to offer, all year long!
