Join us in celebrating the 2017 Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games by participating in the annual parade.
This event will be jam-packed full of Pipes, Plaid, and Pageantry and will feature pipers, dancers, athletes, local groups, and much more.
The parade is open to all clubs, community groups, and teams who wish to display their community pride. Registration forms are available at the Festival office or online by clicking here.
The parade is the kick-off to the festival weekend and will take place on Thursday, August 10th at 7:30 pm. Beginning at the east side of Victoria Park on St. David Street, it will journey north to St Andrew Street, then head west to finish at the Fergus Royal Canadian Legion where you can join the Ceilidh!
The Ceilidh kicks off with some traditional Scottish music from Albannach, then the party moves indoors with the Celtic band Shananigans. Don’t miss this incredible Thursday night kick-off to Scotland…without the airfare!
Downtown Fergus has some amazing events happening all weekend long, from wandering pipers, to historical walking tours, to musical acts in our beautiful pubs, to the Celtic Traditions concert held in Melville United Church! And shuttle buses!!! Keep checking our website for more details…
The Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games offer something for everyone, Scottish or nae!
Celtic music, crafts for the kids, heavy events championships, bagpipes, drums, featured appearances, bands, Highland dancing, storytelling, singing, genealogy and heritage, beer tents, artisans, and vendors galore! Oh my!
The festival site is filled with fun things to do, picnic areas to enjoy delicious foods (you can even bring your own!), and rest and shade areas to relax. We’ve got change tables for the wee bairns and services for clan elders — but please, leave your fur babies at home. There are no pets of any kind allowed on site (except service dogs).
So bring the whole clan and enjoy some family-friendly Scottish culture with us!
