The 2016 Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games was a resounding success, despite the torrential rains! In the face of our continued success, it’s important to remember that none of what we do is possible without the many, many hours put in by our dedicated volunteers. The people in our local community (and beyond) showcase their incredible creativity and ingenuity all year long by booking the great musical acts that perform all weekend, developing heritage and cultural programs, organizing pipe and drum band performers and competitions, coordinating all of the heavy events, participating in the Herculean task of getting all of the highland dance competitors registered, contacting clans, coordinating with the township and local government…the list goes on! Then, on the weekend of the festival, community members come out in droves to work in the hot heat and/or cold downpours to make sure that the festivities go off without a hitch. And we appreciate every single thing you do!!!

The Board of Directors

Our board of directors would like to take this opportunity to pass on their heartfelt thanks to all the many volunteers who heve helped at the various venues and also those who work behind the scenes creating marketing for the event, setting up the site, handling the money, creating and/or serving lunches, distributing signage, and generally making it possible for us all to host this world-class event.

We have plenty of volunteers for the 2017 Fergus Scottish Festival weekend, but we need more individuals to step into some key planning positions and help lead the Festival to many more successful years in the future.

Current volunteer vacancies:

  • Camping Chairperson
  • Sponsorship Coordinator
  • Volunteer Coordinator
  • Security Coordinator
  • Welcoming Committee Chairperson
  • Main Field Coordinator
  • Festival Announcer
  • Recycling Coordinator
  • Site Chairperson to learn under Bruce

Why not try something new? Do you know someone who may be interested in showcasing their talent, contributing to the community, or just looking to have a great time with some incredible people?

If any of these positions interest you or someone you know, and you want to make a difference in our community, please contact info@fergusscottishfestival.com and tell us how you’d like to help make our festival the best of

Scotland…without the airfare!
