Thank you, thank you, thank you to each and every one of you who participated in ways great and small to the 72nd annual Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games. It was an unbelievable year for us, and we are so happy that we got to share it with all of you!
We survived some pretty intense weather, and some pretty high emotions when we were forced by Mother Nature to cancel Friday night’s Tattoo’d in Tradition ceremony; a heartbreaking decision for all of us. Our always thoughtful Board of Directors graciously offered to honour all Friday night wristbands on either Saturday or Sunday, and were rewarded with some fabulous sunny days for the remainder of the weekend!
We had a blast with the Discovery Channel’s Andrew Younghusband and the “Tougher Than It Looks?” film crew as they tried their hand at learning the pipes, highland dancing, tug-of-war, caber tossing, and even having arrows shot at Andrew’s head!
So. Much. Fun.
Clans, Heritage, Dance, Pipes, Musical Acts, McKiddies, Tea Tent, Camping, and all the wonderful events throughout the beautiful town of Fergus made this year one to remember!
And to all of our faithful volunteers, who weathered the storms and the sunshine with us all year long, we thank you. You are the heart of this festival. You are this festival.
Please watch our website as we update it with new pictures (and a new gallery!) and competition results.
Haste Ye Back August 10-12, 2018.
